Woo Hoo! School is out for summer and now I can find the time to blog....I hope:) I can't believe today I said goodbye to another group of 2nd graders. 9 years of teaching under my belt! Wow. Time sure does fly. Today was also the last day for me as a 2nd grade teacher (for now anyways). Next year I start a new journey as a 3rd grade teacher. Something I said I'd NEVER do. Never say never huh? I used to say I'd never leave Corpus Christi and I did. I used to say I'd never leave my first school and I did. And I used to say I'd never teach a TAKS grade and I am! Never say never. :) But I am excited and ready for change. I just pray that God gives me the wealth of knowledge that I need to keep up our "Exemplary" streak! :O
But enough about me I know you want to hear about the boys. Who shall I start with this time? Let's start in the middle...Andrew.
Andrew just completed 3rd grade and will be going into 4th. He brought home 2 Commended scores on his TAKS test this year and we are so proud of him. He has quite the personality
and I have to say he is a "Daddy's boy!" He loves to laugh and play around with his daddy. He thinks of his daddy whenever he's away for work and has surprises for him when he comes home. (just like the suprise he has for him when he comes home tomorrow) He was actually quite the "little girl's man" this year. One little girl told me, "Mrs. DeLaGarza I like Andrew and so does Morgan, Emily, Suzy, Betty, etc...." LOL And I have to say my "That's my baby" attitude came out. OOPs He loves to dance and I must say he gets his moves from his mama!
David Rey will start 9th grade this coming school year :) HOLY MOLY!!!! 9th grade....that was the year I met and fell in love with my husband :) (OOOHHHHH memories!)
He is doing really well in school and I keep telling him these are the years that really count so keep it up! I know these 4 years will fly before my eyes, but I hope not too fast :0 I pray that he makes good choices and learns from the bad ones. And I pray that he will keep lauging and talking with us.
And then there's Christopher. Christopher, Christopher, Christopher. That's all I have to say! LOL My baby is 3 1/2 and a wild one. He too has quite the personality. Such a cutie, but don't let that fool you. Christopher has learned to push "mama's buttons!"
He is lucky he is so darn cute or he'd be in trouble. He thinks he is the boss of the family. He loves to boss his brothers around and his favorite word these days is "No!". But when he is not being bossy and being a toot, he is loveable and kissable. I love that when I least expect it, he comes up to me, hugs my leg, kisses me and says "I love you mommy!" Ahhh it melts my heart away. :) He too is a "daddy's boy!" He loves his daddy. David has been traveling alot these days with work (which is why he likes to push my buttons) and he just cries for his daddy and runs to him when he walks through the door. These are the things that remind me that we've done a good job.
We continued to be so blessed. God truly is AMAZING!
